Project Objective:

Understand and apply the concept of percentage in a realistic context through the organization of a "Percentage Bazaar" in the classroom.

Detailed Project Description:

Students will be divided into groups of 3 to 5 members. Each group will be responsible for organizing a "store" as part of a "Percentage Bazaar." Each student should bring 5 items from home (could be a toy, book, clothing, etc.) to be "sold" in their store. Each item must have an initial price set by the group.

Throughout the project, students will "buy" items from other stores using fictitious currency distributed by the teacher. During the week, the teacher will announce several "discount" periods where each group must calculate and apply a percentage discount on their items.

Students will cover skills such as calculating percentages of a number, increasing and decreasing a number by a certain percentage, as well as applying these skills in a realistic and practical environment.

Required Materials:

1. Personal items for the 'bazaar'
2. Fictitious money (can be printed by the teacher)
3. Price cards
4. Calculators

Step-by-Step Guide for the Activity:
