Mathematics is present in all spheres of our daily lives, and it is with this in mind that we present this work on divisibility criteria. Based on these principles, we can begin to better understand the world around us and develop skills that we will apply in various situations.

Divisibility criteria are rules that allow us to quickly and practically determine whether one number is divisible by another. Divisibility is a property that allows us to know if a number can be divided by another number without leaving any remainder. Certain numbers, such as 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, and 10, have their own divisibility criteria that facilitate this process.

Understanding these criteria is crucial to facilitate calculations and solve more complex mathematical problems. Furthermore, because they are practical and quick rules, they also help us save time and energy during these operations.

Contextualization

Divisibility criteria are of great importance in various areas and situations of everyday life. When managing our money, for example, we may need to divide a certain amount among a number of people or bills to pay. Quickly knowing if this division is possible without leaving remainders and, if not, what the remainder will be, can help us better manage our finances.

Furthermore, these criteria are also widely used in various areas of science and technology. In the field of computing, for example, they are used to create efficient algorithms and perform operations on bits.

Project Objective

To expand understanding of divisibility criteria through a playful and collaborative activity. Students will develop a mathematical game that allows the practice of divisibility criteria.

Detailed Project Description

Students, divided into groups of 3 to 5 members, must create a game where players need to guess whether a number is divisible by another and what the remainder of the division is, if any. The game can be created in such a way that it involves elements of luck and strategy, thus stimulating not only mathematical thinking but also socio-emotional skills such as leadership, decision-making, and cooperation.

Students will have one week to develop the project and should dedicate between two to four hours per participant throughout this period for the work.

Necessary Materials

  1. Cardboard for creating the board and other game components.
  2. Colored pens and/or colored pencils for illustration.
  3. Scissors and glue for assembling the game.
  4. Dice or roulette to add elements of luck (optional).
  5. Small objects to use as game pieces.

Detailed Step-by-Step for Activity Execution

  1. Brainstorming: In the first meeting, students should discuss ideas about how the game will be, what rules it will have, and how the divisibility criteria will be applied.
  2. Planning: After the discussion, students should create a detailed written plan on how they will create and organize the game.
  3. Game Creation: The group should then get to work and create the game according to the plan, dedicating time to illustrate and make the game visually appealing and playful.

The report should be done collaboratively, and all group members should contribute to its creation. It should be presented clearly and objectively, demonstrating the students' understanding of divisibility criteria and highlighting the creative and collaborative process that resulted in the game's creation.
