Composite numbers, on the other hand, are natural numbers greater than one that have more than two different divisors. One way to understand this is that prime numbers are those numbers that can only be divided exactly by one and by themselves while composite numbers can be divided exactly by other numbers. It seems simple enough, but the line between prime and composite numbers is a fascinating and complex subject in mathematics.
