Being able to read and understand this information allows us to make more informed and reasoned decisions. It also enables us to participate in debates and discussions in a more effective and responsible manner.

Project Title: "Creating our own Newspaper"

Project Objective:

The project "Creating our own Newspaper" aims to develop students' reading and comprehension skills through practical activities of text production and analysis. The project also aims to enhance teamwork, organization, research, writing, and presentation skills. Our focus will be on producing articles, news, chronicles, and editorials, common textual genres in newspapers.

Detailed Project Description:

Students will be divided into groups of 3 to 5 members, and each group will be responsible for creating an edition of a newspaper to be shared in the classroom. Each group should produce articles, news, chronicles, and editorials, totaling at least 10 pages of content.

The project will be divided into three main stages:

1. Research and Text Elaboration: Students will research different topics for text elaboration. The topics should be relevant to the school community and society in general. Additionally, students should study the textual genres they will produce, understanding their characteristics and structures.

2. Writing and Revision of Texts: Students will write their texts and revise them, checking grammar, spelling, style, and coherence.

3. Layout and Printing of the Newspaper: Students will layout the newspaper, choosing images and layout for the texts, and finally, they will print the final edition of the newspaper.

Necessary Materials:

• Books, newspapers, and magazines for research;
• Computers with internet access for research and text writing;
• Text editing program, such as Microsoft Word or Google Docs;
• Printer for printing the newspaper (can be at school).

• Conclusion: notation of the main learnings and challenges encountered during the project development, as well as a reflection on the importance of reading and comprehension skills for personal and academic development.

• Bibliography: list of research sources used for text elaboration and for learning theoretical concepts.

This project should be developed over at least 4 weeks, dedicating an average of three hours per week to the activities.
