Dear students, welcome to a fascinating world of discoveries and learning. In this project, we will explore the topic "Reading and Reading Comprehension 2", an essential subject with many practical applications throughout our daily lives.
Reading is a fundamental skill for learning. It is not just about reading, but understanding, interpreting, and analyzing what is being read. Reading involves more than just decoding words, but also understanding concepts, ideas, and contexts. Through reading we are transported to other worlds, learn new things, and become better able to understand the thoughts and perspectives of others.
Introduction
In this project we will focus on two key concepts: reading comprehension and text interpretation. Reading comprehension involves the general understanding of a text, identifying main and secondary ideas, and making connections between different parts of the text. Text interpretation, on the other hand, involves the ability to extract meaning from the text, identify the author's purpose, recognize cultural or historical references, and make inferences based on what has been read.
The importance of these skills extends beyond academia. In the real world, they are necessary for understanding news articles, instructions, contracts, books, articles, and a wide variety of texts that we encounter on a daily basis.
Practical Activity
Activity Title: The World Through Reading
Project Objective:
The objective of this activity is to demonstrate how students can extract relevant information from reading and interpreting texts and how such skills are important in various life situations. Each group must choose a book from a different literary genre (science fiction, fantasy, biography, history, among others) and extract the information, interpret it and present a final report.
Detailed Project Description:
The project will be carried out in groups of 3 to 5 students. Each group will choose a book from a different literary genre and carry out a complete analysis of it, focusing on the understanding and interpretation of the text.
Required materials:
-Students' chosen book -Computer or notebook for note-taking -Internet for research
Step-by-step Activity:

Group formation and book selection: Students must organize themselves into groups of 3 to 5 people. Each group should choose a book from a different literary genre, which will be the basis for this project.

Reading and note-taking: Students should read the book, taking relevant notes on characters, plot, themes, historical or cultural context (if relevant), among other aspects. The goal here is to ensure a complete understanding of the text.

Group discussion: After reading, the students should meet (virtually or in person) to discuss their interpretations of the book. I suggest that they designate one member of the group to be the "discussion leader" to ensure that everyone has a chance to speak.

Report writing: After the discussions, the group should work together to produce a report that includes an introduction (with a brief summary of the book and the objective of the project), development (with the presentation and discussion of the group's interpretations), and conclusion (with conclusions about the project and lessons learned). The bibliography used should also be indicated.
Project Deliverables:
At the end of the project, each group of students will be required to submit a written report of their work. This report should follow the structure of the project, with an introduction (contextualizing the theme and objective of the project), development (presenting the theory behind the concepts worked on, explaining the activity in detail, presenting the methodology used, and discussing the results) and a conclusion (reviewing the main points and presenting the conclusions and lessons learned). The bibliography used should also be included at the end of the report.
The report should be written in a clear and concise manner, respecting the rules of spelling and grammar, and demonstrating a deep understanding of the selected book and the concepts of reading comprehension and text interpretation.
This project will allow students to work in teams, manage their time, solve problems creatively and proactively, and above all, improve their reading and interpretation skills.
