Practical Activity: "Verbs in the Construction of a Theatrical Script"

Project Objective

The objective of this project is to deepen students' understanding of the role of verbs in constructing the meaning of a text through the creation of a theatrical script. This activity will allow students to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical and playful way, as well as stimulate teamwork, creativity, and communication.

Project Description

Students will be divided into groups of 3 to 5 participants, and each group will create a theatrical script with a duration of approximately 15 minutes. Students will have total freedom to choose the theme of the play, but it is important to use different verb tenses and moods to convey the actions of the characters and the unfolding of the story.

Furthermore, the script should be divided into three acts, each representing a different verb tense: past, present, and future. The challenge lies in using these verb tenses with creativity and precision to construct the meaning of the play and ensure textual fluency and cohesion.

Required Materials

• Paper and pen or computer for script development.
• Grammar books and/or internet access for consultation and research.
• Rehearsal space for groups to rehearse their theatrical pieces.

Step by Step

1. Divide into groups of 3 to 5 students.
2. Choose a theme for the theatrical script and brainstorm ideas.
3. Decide on the structure of the play, defining the beginning, middle, and end of each act.
4. Start writing the script, remembering to use different verb tenses and moods to represent the actions of the characters.
5. After writing the script, read and revise it, analyzing if the verbs are being used correctly to construct the meaning of the text.
6. Rehearse the play several times to ensure the smoothness of the presentation.

Project Deliverables

Students must present the written script of the play and perform the theatrical presentation for the class.

Additionally, each group must write a report on the project, divided into the following topics:

1. Introduction: The student must contextualize the theme, its relevance, and real-world application in addition to the objective of this project.
2. Development: The student must explain the theory about verbs, detail the choice of the play's theme, explain how the script was constructed, and how verbs were used to construct the meaning of the text, indicating the methodology used and presenting the final script.
3. Conclusion: The student must explain the learnings obtained, both in theory and practice, and the conclusions drawn from the project.
4. Bibliography: The student must indicate the sources they relied on to carry out the project.

This practical activity will allow students to apply theoretical knowledge about verbs, develop skills in teamwork, creativity, communication, time management, and problem-solving.
