Additionally, some protozoa are parasites and cause diseases in humans, such as malaria and Chagas disease.
Algae, on the other hand, are photosynthetic organisms that also belong to the Protist kingdom. They are responsible for a large part of the oxygen production on the planet, playing a crucial role in maintaining life on Earth. Furthermore, many algae are used in human nutrition and in the production of biofuels.
Why study protozoa and algae?
Studying protozoa and algae is essential to understand the complexity and diversity of life on Earth. Each of these organisms has unique characteristics that teach us about the adaptability of life, the interconnectedness of ecosystems, the parasitic relationship, and the importance of photosynthesis.

Project Objective
In this activity, the objective is to develop a presentation about a specific type of protozoa and algae, including general information such as characteristics, ecological functions, and importance to humans. The project aims not only to promote learning about these organisms but also to enhance skills such as research, teamwork, and presentation.
Detailed Project Description
Each group will be responsible for researching, developing, and presenting a 10 to 15-minute presentation on a protozoan and an alga. This presentation should include the following sections:

After the presentation, all groups should prepare a complete written report containing the sections: Introduction, Development (which should include the explanation of the theory and the detailed description of the activity, as well as the methodology used and the results obtained), and Conclusion. The bibliography should cite all sources consulted.
Project Evaluation Criteria
Students will be evaluated based on the accuracy and depth of the presentation content, the quality and clarity of the oral presentation, the participation of all group members, and the quality of the written report. The written report must comply with the provided guidelines and include all four main topics: Introduction, Development, Conclusions, and Bibliography used.
