Project Objective:
Reconstruct the evolution of the periodic table using historical research and creatively present the construction trajectory of this chemistry foundation.
Project Description:
Students will form groups of 3 to 5 members, and each group will be responsible for researching the history of the periodic table, its main precursors, the different versions over time, and the milestones in the evolution up to the modern table we know today. The activity will encompass research, written production, and presentation to classmates.
Necessary Materials:
Computer with internet access for research, paper, colored pens, cardboard, and other creative materials for the presentation elaboration.
Detailed Step-by-Step for Activity Execution:
1. Divide into groups of 3 to 5 students and assign specific tasks to each member. Consider research, writing, presentation development, and review.
2. Research together the history of the periodic table using the provided links and other reliable sources. Take note of important information, such as precursors, different table versions, and milestones in the table's evolution.
3. After the research, each group should create a detailed timeline to show the evolution of the periodic table. Be creative! Drawings, graphics, illustrations, and other visual resources are welcome.
4. Each group should prepare an oral presentation of 10 to 15 minutes on the history of the periodic table for the class. The presentation should include the timeline and a detailed explanation of the periodic table's evolution.
5. Before the presentation, the group should write a detailed report on the history of the periodic table. This report should have an introduction contextualizing the theme, a development section explaining the table's evolution, a conclusion summarizing the main points, and a bibliography with the sources used.
Project Deliverables:
1. Timeline: The timeline should be made on cardboard or similar material. It should be colorful, creative, and clear.
