The Periodic Table is one of the most important concepts in Chemistry and is vital to understand how chemical elements interact with each other. It was created in the 19th century and has been continuously updated since then. The table organizes all known chemical elements into a grid, based on their properties and electronic configurations. This allows us to see trends and patterns and predict how elements will behave.
In the Periodic Table, elements are organized into periods (horizontal rows) and groups (vertical columns). Each element has a unique atomic number that indicates the number of protons in its nucleus. Elements within the same group have the same number of electrons in their outermost energy level and therefore exhibit many similar chemical properties.
Periodic properties are trends or regularities observed among the elements in the Periodic Table. There are several periodic properties, including atomic radius, ionization energy, electron affinity, and electronegativity. Understanding these properties and how they change across the Periodic Table allows us to make predictions about the chemical behavior of elements.
Importance of the Periodic Table
The Periodic Table is not just a tool for chemical scientists. It has wide applications in many fields, from medicine to engineering materials and clean energy. For example, doctors use radioisotopes in medical diagnostics and treatments. Materials engineers use knowledge of the properties of elements to create new materials with desired properties. In this project, you will have the opportunity to explore deeply the Periodic Table and its properties. We use the Periodic Table every day, even without realizing it. This project will allow you to appreciate the beauty and complexity of the Periodic Table and understand why it is one of the most significant achievements in science.

Activity Title: "Video and Poster Creation: Exploring the Periodic Table and its Properties"
Project Objective
This project aims to deepen students' study of the periodic table and its properties, developing research skills, teamwork, communication, critical thinking, and creativity. Additionally, the project seeks to interconnect the theme with various disciplines, aiming for a broader and interdisciplinary view of the subject by students.
Detailed Project Description
Students, organized in groups of 3 to 5 members, should research in-depth about the periodic table and its properties. The result of this research will be presented through the creation of an explanatory video and a digital poster.
The video should contain a clear and creative explanation of the concept of the periodic table, its historical evolution, its elements, and their properties. Students should include practical examples of where we find the applications of these elements in everyday life, chemical reactions involving them, and the importance of these elements for life on Earth and for technological development.
The digital poster should be a visual complement to the video and an independent learning tool, creatively and didactically addressing the periodic table, its properties, and the practical application of its elements.
The last part of the project is the elaboration of a report, divided into four parts: Introduction, Development, Conclusions, and Bibliography.

- Organize into groups of 3 to 5 members.
- Conduct in-depth research on the periodic table, its properties, and the practical applications of its elements. Use the suggested learning resources as a starting point and explore other reliable sources.
- Discuss as a group and outline the video script and poster layout. Remember that both should be didactic, creative, and comprehensive.
- Record and edit the video, ensuring a clear and interesting explanation.
- Create the digital poster, ensuring it is visually appealing and informative.
- Write the report divided into four parts: Introduction, Development, Conclusions, and Bibliography.
- Present the video, poster, and report to the class, discuss the learnings, and answer possible questions from classmates and the teacher.
