The third phase, in the 1980s, coincided with the development of computers and the automation of the production process.

In practice, Industry 4.0 indicates a future where production systems will be capable of making decentralized decisions. In other words, machines and systems will be able to make their own decisions and organize autonomous and optimized production, with the possibility of creating and providing customized products, considering the individual wishes of customers.

It is important to emphasize that the Fourth Industrial Revolution brings with it a great challenge for society. By making some jobs obsolete, it creates an immediate demand for new professions, skills and mediations. In summary, Industry 4.0 opens up a new panorama for humanity, bringing both challenges and new opportunities.

Project Goal:

Develop a deep understanding of the impacts of the Fourth Industrial Revolution on the global economy, focusing on regional analysis and the interdependence of countries.

Detailed Project Description:

Students should form groups of 3 to 5 members. Each group will choose a country and analyze the changes that have occurred in that country due to the Fourth Industrial Revolution, focusing on areas such as economy, industrial production, resource use, employability, among others.

They should identify how these changes influence geographical aspects (industrial, population, infrastructure maps, etc.) and create new socioeconomic dynamics. The activity requires bibliographic research, data analysis and creation of infographics.

Required materials:

• Internet access for research
• Geography, economics and history books for contextualization and references
• Infographic creation tools (Canva, Piktochart, etc.)
• Presentation creation software (Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Slides, etc.)

Detailed Step-by-Step Activity:

1. Formation of groups and choice of country to be analyzed.

2. Research and compilation of information on the economy of the selected country and its process and impacts of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

3. Identification and analysis of the geographical aspects altered and influenced due to the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

4. Development of infographics representing the changes that have taken place and the new dynamics created.

5. Preparation of a presentation incorporating the research carried out, analysis and infographics developed.

6. Finally, each group must produce a detailed report according to the guidelines provided.

The project should be carried out within a period of one month and each student should dedicate five to ten hours to the execution of the activity.

Project Deliverables:

Students must submit a presentation and a detailed report.

• The presentation should contain the analysis of the chosen country, the infographics developed and the discussion of the changes that have occurred due to the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
