Its occurrence is linked to factors such as technological advances, which facilitated transportation and communication between different parts of the world, and economic liberalization policies, which allowed greater flow of trade and investment between countries.

This process, whose main pillars are the economy, politics, and culture, deeply affects various structures of contemporary society, modifying the habits and customs of many peoples. The phenomenon has caused profound transformations in people's lives, both in positive and negative aspects.

In the globalized world, there is a growing interdependence, whether in the economic sphere, through international trade and capital flows, or in the social sphere, through the diffusion of ideas and cultures. This means that events in a specific part of the globe can have significant repercussions in other places, often geographically distant.

Globalization is a complex phenomenon that has an important influence on all of us. Various aspects of our daily lives are deeply connected to this process, from the food we eat to the clothes we wear. It manages to reach broad sectors of our lives, and that is why it is so important to understand how all of this works.

Practical Activity

Activity Title: Map of the Globalized World

Project Objective

The objective of this activity is to allow students to better understand the impact and reach of globalization, exploring critically and reflectively how population flows, financial flows, goods, and information affect groups, peoples, and societies. For this, students will create an interactive map that represents global connections and the results of globalization.

Detailed Project Description

Students will be divided into groups of 3 to 5 members. They will conduct in-depth research to identify different aspects of the globalized world and present their findings clearly and visually.

Each group must choose a specific theme related to globalization to be the focus of their project. Some possible themes include: migratory flows, trade routes, dissemination of cultures and ideas, etc.

Once the theme has been chosen, students must research it, collecting data and information from reliable sources. The group should strive to understand both the big picture and specific details.

Using the collected data, the group must create an interactive map that visualizes the information from their project. There are several free online tools that can be used to create interactive maps, such as Google My Maps, ArcGIS Online, etc.

The map should be created in a way that allows the visualization of global interconnection and understanding the impacts of globalization through it. In addition, the map should also include legends, explanatory notes, or other elements that help interpret the information contained in it.

• Conclusions: A crucial point where the report should conclude the work by summarizing its main points, explaining the learnings obtained, and drawing conclusions about the project.
• Bibliography: Indication of the sources used to work on the project such as books, web pages, videos, etc.

In addition to the report, each group must present the interactive map they created along with a brief presentation explaining what was done and what conclusions were drawn.
