An easy example to understand this difference is that weather is what makes us take an umbrella when we leave home, while climate is what makes us have an umbrella at home.
Climatic factors are variables that influence the climatic conditions of a place. They include latitude, altitude, ocean currents, winds, vegetation, among others. Learning about climatic factors is crucial to understand how the natural world works and how human activities can influence the climate.
Studying climatic factors is relevant not only to understand climate patterns and weather forecasts, but also to comprehend the diversity of climates around the planet. Understanding this is especially relevant in a world increasingly impacted by climate change. Through the analysis of climatic factors, we can begin to understand why certain regions are more prone to droughts, floods, or hurricanes, and what we can expect in the future. Furthermore, this understanding also allows us to assess the possible impacts of climate change on our daily lives, economy, and food systems.

Project Objective:
This project aims to deepen students' understanding of climatic factors and their influence on various scales - local, regional, and global - by combining Geography with Biology and Sociology. The project will be completed through research, discussions, analysis of climatic data, graph construction, and the creation of an explanatory video.
Detailed Project Description:
Stage 1: Research and Discussion (5 hours)
Collaboratively, each group must research and discuss the following climatic factors: latitude, altitude, ocean currents, and air masses. The group must also investigate how these factors affect the local, regional, and global climate.
Stage 2: Analysis of Climatic Data and Graph Construction (4 hours)
Students must collect historical temperature and precipitation data from three different locations (one near the Equator, one at mid-latitudes, and one near the Poles) over the last ten years. The data can be obtained from reliable climate and weather monitoring websites. They must construct temperature and precipitation graphs for each location using appropriate software tools.
Stage 3: Crossing Disciplines - Geography, Biology, and Sociology (3 hours)
In this stage, students need to think about how climatic factors influence local biodiversity and impact human society. They must research local flora and fauna and analyze how climate change can affect these organisms and consequently, humans.
Stage 4: Creation of the Explanatory Video (8 hours)
Groups must create a 10-15 minute video explaining their graphs and the conclusions drawn from them. The video should address how the climatic factors they researched influence the climate on different scales and how these impacts affect biodiversity and humans.
