Mathematics is a fundamental discipline that is present in our daily lives, from the most basic technical processes to the most complex formulations of quantum physics. Learning mathematics develops logical reasoning, problem-solving skills, and critical thinking. In this project, we will focus on an important topic in geometry: vertically opposite angles (VOA).
VOA are formed by two intersecting lines. Each pair of opposite angles has the same measure, and this characteristic is an important tool used to solve various mathematical problems. Learning to identify and use this characteristic of VOA is an essential skill for any math student.

Project Goal
This project aims to explore students' understanding of vertically opposite angles (VOA) through their application in the construction of a bridge model. In addition, teamwork, time management, and problem-solving skills will be present throughout the process.
Detailed Project Description
Students will be divided into groups of 3 to 5 people. Each group will study vertically opposite angles and then apply the knowledge acquired in the construction of a bridge model. This model will represent the importance of VOA in the construction of real structures in civil engineering. The project should be completed within four weeks, i.e., one month of work.

Step-by-Step Activity

Study and Research: Use the sources cited in the contextualization, as well as mathematics and civil engineering books, to understand concepts about vertically opposite angles and their importance in the construction of structures.

Project Design: Draw a sketch of the bridge to be built, indicating the points where the vertically opposite angles will occur. We recommend using 3D modeling software to assist in the project design and spatial understanding of the construction.

c. Conclusion: Reflect on the lessons learned and the conclusions drawn about the project. Review your main points and discuss the importance of studying angles in civil engineering.
d. Bibliography: List all sources that were consulted to assist in the execution of this project.
The written report should be submitted in digital format - preferably PDF - and should have a minimum length of 15 pages. Remember: the quality of the text and the accuracy of the information are as important as the aesthetics and organization of the physical structure of the project.
