Project Objective

The project aims to deepen the understanding of multiplication and division concepts through a practical and playful activity that simulates an everyday situation: shopping at a supermarket. In this way, students will learn to apply these operations in a realistic context, as well as exercise skills such as teamwork, planning, and resource management.

Project Description

Students will be organized into groups of 3 to 5 people. Each group will receive a list of products with their respective prices and an "amount of money" available to spend. They will be tasked with "buying" the products, taking into account the unit price, the quantity they want to buy, and the available money.

Necessary Materials

1. Lists of products with prices: you can create these lists using real supermarket products and prices.
2. Fictional "money" for each group: can be represented by paper, tokens, or even a value written on paper.
3. Paper and pen for calculations and for the preparation of the final report.

Step by Step

1. Organize students into groups and distribute the list of products and the fictional "money".
2. Instruct students to plan their purchases, taking into account the available money. They must record all calculations made.
3. The groups should present their purchases and explain how they reached their decisions, demonstrating the multiplication and division calculations performed.
4. Finally, each group must write a report on the activity, as detailed below.

Project Delivery and Report Writing

Students must submit two items at the end of the project: the lists with the purchases made and the associated calculations, and the final report.

The report should be structured as follows:

1. Introduction: Explanation of the project context, its relevance and real-world application, and the project's objective.
2. Development: Detailed explanation of the purchases made and the calculations involved in each decision. It should indicate the methodology used (how tasks were organized, how calculations were performed, etc.) and present the results obtained.
3. Conclusions: Recap of the main points, explanation of the learnings obtained, and conclusions about the project.
4. Bibliography: Indication of the sources that were used to learn and base the project on.

Remember that the report is a moment to express in writing the reasoning and skills developed during the project. Furthermore, it is important to have a well-revised final version of the report, showing concern for the quality of the delivery.
