Modern man is increasingly connected, informed, and with a growing power of decision over his own life and his choices. In this context, questions about morality and ethics, about what is right and what is wrong, have become increasingly relevant.

Morality is a social construct that guides human behavior, determining which actions are considered right or wrong. However, the interpretation of what is moral can vary significantly from one culture to another, and even within the same society, depending on a number of factors, such as religion, education, social class, among others.

In today's world, marked by intense globalization and a growing plurality of ideas and points of view, the study of morality becomes fundamental, aiming to understand how it manifests itself in contemporary society and its implications for the way we live our lives.

Introduction to the theme "The morals of modern man"

In the field of philosophy, morality is an extremely broad concept, which has been the object of study and debate for centuries. Groups of philosophers, called ethics, are dedicated to the study of morality and ethics, seeking to understand its origin, its nature, and its role in society.

Morality is a set of norms that govern human behavior within a society, defining what is considered right and wrong. However, morality is not something static, but is constantly changing, reflecting social, cultural and historical transformations. What was considered morally acceptable at one point in history may no longer be acceptable today, and vice versa.

Modern man, inserted into a context of intense globalization and constant exchange of ideas and experiences, is constantly exposed to new moral and ethical standards, which can generate conflicts and dilemmas. Therefore, it is essential that young people, in particular, are able to understand and critically reflect on morality, so that they can make conscious and ethical decisions in their lives.

Practical Activity: Dynamics "Morality of History"

Project Objective

The objective of the "Morality of History" project is to promote a reflection and discussion on different hypothetical scenarios combined with morality and ethics, allowing students to place themselves in different perspectives and analyze the changing nature of morality.

Detailed Project Description

In the "Morality of History" project, students will be divided into groups of 3 to 5 people. The activity consists of the creation and presentation of a "moral story", where each group must develop a short film or theater play that involves moral issues relevant to contemporary society.

Each group should choose a relevant moral theme (such as honesty, responsibility, justice, equality, dignity, etc.) and create a story around it. The story should involve a moral dilemma faced by one or more characters and show how this dilemma is resolved.

After the creation and presentation of the story, each group should write a detailed report on the work carried out, discussing the morality of the situation presented, the dilemmas faced by the characters, and the decision made. The report should contain a section that reports the discussions and decisions made during the creation of the story, reflections on the morality of the situation and the application of philosophical theories relevant to the theme.

Step by Step

1. Formation of groups and choice of the moral theme to be addressed.
2. Story discussion and planning. The group must define the characters, the plot, and the moral dilemma to be presented.
3. Creation of the script. The script should detail all the scenes, dialogues and actions of the characters.
4. Rehearsal and recording or presentation of the story. The group can choose to present live or record a video.
5. After the presentation, group discussion about the morality of the situation presented and the decisions made by the characters.
6. Writing of the final report, which will report the experience, the theory used to support the moral of the story, the discussion made and the reflections on the theme.

Project Deliverables

The project deliverables are the story presentation and the written report.

The presentation should clearly demonstrate the moral situation that the group chose and how the characters deal with it. The group should use this presentation to effectively communicate their understanding of morality and the complexities involved in moral decisions.

The written report should include four main parts:

1. Introduction: The group should contextualize the chosen moral theme, explain why it is relevant and what are the objectives of this project.
2. Development: The group should explain the moral theory that supports its history, describe the activity in detail, indicate the methodology used and present and discuss the results obtained.
3. Conclusion: The group should conclude the work by revisiting its main points, explaining the lessons learned and the conclusions drawn about morality.
4. Bibliography: The group should indicate the sources used to support the story and the report.

This written report will be essential to assess the group's understanding of morality, as well as their critical thinking, teamwork and writing skills.
