Introduction

Philosophy, a term derived from the Greek Philosophia, which means "love of wisdom," is the tireless pursuit of truth and answers to the deepest questions of human existence. Philosophy was born in Ancient Greece, around the 6th century B.C., as a need to better understand nature, life, death, gods, the universe, and man.

The early philosophers, also known as "pre-Socratics," tried to explain the world around them not through religious myths, but through the use of reason and observation of nature. It was a significant change in the way of thinking, marking the beginning of Philosophy.

Furthermore, by studying the origin of Philosophy, we notice the emergence of various schools of thought and notable philosophers who influenced not only Philosophy but all areas of knowledge, including Science, Politics, Ethics, Aesthetics, among others.

Contextualization

By understanding the origin of Philosophy, we can better comprehend how society and human thought have evolved into what we are today. It is crucial to realize that these ancient philosophers, with their ideas and questions, shaped our world in unimaginable ways.

Moreover, the study of Philosophy allows us to recognize our ability to question, think critically, and reflect on our existence. Philosophy encourages us not to passively accept things as they are but to inquire, seek answers, and create our own worldviews.

Detailed Project Description

Student groups will embark on a journey through the history of philosophy, from its origin with the pre-Socratics to contemporary philosophical thought. Each group will select a period of philosophy and some notable philosophers from that time. The work will be divided into four parts: research, creation of a script, video production, and report writing.

• Books and online resources for research.
• Internet for research and watching videos on the topic.
• Video recording equipment (a smartphone is sufficient).
• Video editing software (free online or already installed on the computer).
• Computer or paper for report writing.

Detailed Step-by-Step for Activity Completion

1. Research: The group must conduct in-depth research on the selected period and chosen philosophers. They should consider the worldview at that time, the main philosophical ideas developed, how these ideas challenged previous thinking, and how they influenced philosophy and other areas of knowledge later on.

2. Script: Based on the research conducted, the group must create a script for the video. This should be a fun and informative summary of the journey of philosophy during the selected period.

3. Video: The group must produce a video based on the script. The video can be a dramatization, a documentary, a talk show with "interviews" with the philosophers, an animation, or any format that is appropriate for the content and engaging for the audience.

4. Report: The group must write a report to accompany the video, including:

   4.1 Introduction: Description of the selected period and its relevance to the history of philosophy.

   4.2 Development: Detailed discussion on the ideas of the selected philosophers, how they challenged existing thinking, and how their ideas influenced philosophy and other areas of knowledge later on. Detailing the research methodology used by the group.

   4.3 Conclusion: Reflection on what the group learned from carrying out the project. How do the researched ideas relate to the current world? What were the challenges encountered and how were they overcome?

   4.4 Bibliography: References for all information sources used during the research.

The project must be completed within four weeks, with each student dedicating at least three hours per week to the project, totaling twelve hours per student.

Project Deliverables

• Digital video (10 to 15 minutes): Must be uploaded on YouTube or another video sharing platform, and the link must be provided.

• Written report (7 to 10 pages, including the bibliography): Must be in digital format (Word or PDF) and sent by email or uploaded to a file sharing platform.

The project culminates in the presentation of the research in the form of a video, accompanied by a detailed written report. This will allow students to demonstrate not only the knowledge acquired about the origin and development of philosophy but also their research, analysis, communication, and collaboration skills.
