Contextualization
Health is one of the greatest values we have. Sport is proven to be one of the most effective activities for promoting and maintaining health. In this sense, the objective of this project is to offer students the opportunity to investigate and understand the benefits and impacts of sports on physical and mental health.
The benefits of sports for health are multifaceted. In addition to improving physical capacity and strengthening the immune system, regular sports practice can help prevent various chronic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol, among others. In the psychological sphere, sports help relieve stress, increase the production of endorphins, neurotransmitters responsible for the sensation of pleasure and well-being, contribute to increased self-esteem, and promote socialization.
Understanding the benefits of sports for physical and mental health is essential for self-awareness and self-management of one's health. Sports practice, combined with healthy eating and adequate sleep routine, becomes an indispensable tool for achieving a full and healthy life.

Project Description
Groups will be invited to choose a sports modality of their preference (it can be basketball, soccer, volleyball, running, swimming, etc). They should practice the chosen sport for at least one hour a day for a week.
During this period, they should take notes on how they feel before, during, and after sports practice, taking into account physical aspects (exhaustion, energy, disposition), mental aspects (mood, stress level), and social aspects (interaction with peers).
Necessary Materials
- Equipment needed for the practice of the chosen sport
- Notebook for notes or note-taking app on the phone
- Camera or phone to capture moments of sports practice (optional)
Step by Step
- Form groups of 3 to 5 students.
- Each group should choose a sports modality of their preference.
- Organize the logistics for practicing the chosen sport for a week.
- Daily record your observations on how you feel in physical, mental, and social aspects.
- Gather after the week of sports practice to discuss the observations and prepare the report.
The report to be submitted should include:
- Introduction: Contextualization about the chosen sport, its relevance to health, and the objective of the activity carried out.
- Development: Detailed description of the sports practice carried out and analysis of the data collected by the students (feelings and observations), relating the results to the theory studied. Include photos or videos of sports practice moments (optional).
- Conclusion: General reflections on the experience, what the students learned, how sports practice influenced their physical and mental health, and how they can apply the knowledge acquired in their lives.
- Bibliography: Cite all sources of information used in the project.
