To understand the importance of this subject, let's imagine the following situation: you are part of a team responsible for developing a new application. Each team member has a different competency: someone is good at programming, another at design, another understands marketing. By identifying the participants' competencies, you can assign tasks according to each one's strengths, optimizing the team's functioning and improving the final result.

Introduction

The concept of competencies is comprehensive and can be understood in different ways. However, a common definition is that competency is the combination and harmonization of three elements: knowledge (knowing), skills (know-how), and attitudes (wanting to do). Competencies are not only linked to the technical ability to perform a task. Activity Title: Competency Map

Project Objective

The objective of this project is to create a competency map for the 1st year high school class. This map will help students identify individual and collective competencies, open discussions about the importance of these competencies in a collaborative environment, and ultimately enhance their teamwork and problem-solving skills.

Detailed Project Description

During this project, students will be divided into groups of 3 to 5 people. Each group will be responsible for analyzing the members' competencies and developing a competency map for the group. Additionally, each group will define a challenge or problem they would like to solve using the identified competencies. To do this, they must research, discuss, and propose solutions to the challenge, efficiently utilizing the group's competencies.

Detailed Step-by-Step for Activity Execution

Form groups of 3 to 5 students.
Each student should self-assess their competencies, identifying their strengths and areas for improvement.
Each group should discuss to identify each member's competencies. These competencies should be discussed and recorded on the competency map.
Next, each group should choose a challenge or problem they would like to solve. This challenge should preferably be related to school life.
Each group should then discuss and propose solutions to the challenge, using the identified competencies.
Finally, each group should prepare a presentation of the competency map and the proposed solution to the challenge. This presentation should be made to the class and the teacher, who will evaluate the group's work.

Project Deliverables and Report Writing

After completing this practical activity, each group should prepare a detailed report on the project. This report should be divided into four main parts: Introduction, Development, Conclusions, and Bibliography.

Introduction: contextualize the theme of participants' competencies, the importance of this project, and the group's objectives.
Development: explain the theory about technical and behavioral competencies. Detail the practical activity, explaining how the self-assessment was done, the choice and discussion of the challenge, and the proposed solutions. Describe the group's work methodology, including task division and time management. Present and discuss the results obtained: the group's competency map and the proposed solution to the challenge.
Conclusions: summarize the main points worked on, highlighting the learnings obtained and the conclusions drawn about the project. These conclusions should reflect on the importance of knowing one's competencies and those of colleagues, as well as the importance of teamwork and group problem-solving.
Bibliography: indicate the sources used for the project, such as books, web pages, videos, among others.

This report should be submitted to the teacher at the end of the project. It will be evaluated considering the understanding of the topic, the quality of the competency analysis, the effectiveness of the proposed solution to the challenge, the quality of writing, and the collaboration and participation of all group members.
