When traveling to Spanish-speaking countries, it is essential to know the vocabulary related to travel and transportation in Spanish.
Spanish is the second most spoken language in the world, according to the Cervantes Institute. It is the official language of 21 countries and it is one of the six official languages of the United Nations. Therefore, its importance is undeniable. Knowing the specific vocabulary of travel and transportation in Spanish can open doors to personal and professional opportunities.
In this project, you will be introduced to travel vocabulary and means of transportation in Spanish in an interactive and engaging way. You will work together to learn and apply these words, simulating real travel scenarios and situations. Through this project, we hope you will feel more confident and prepared to use Spanish in travel contexts.

Activity Title: Virtual Language Journey
Project Aim
The aim of this project is to familiarize students with travel vocabulary and means of transportation in Spanish by creating a Travel Blog or Vlog in Spanish. This project goes beyond the memorization of keywords, encouraging students to use vocabulary in a practical context and enhancing their writing and speaking skills in Spanish.
Detailed Project Description
Students, in groups of 3 to 5, will plan and execute a virtual "trip" to a Spanish-speaking destination of their choice. The trip should include details such as itinerary planning, selection of means of transport, accommodation, and activities to be carried out.
To document the trip, students should create a Travel Blog or Vlog (Video Blog) in Spanish, where they will discuss their travel plans, experiences, and reflections. This content should include the use of travel and transportation vocabulary.
Required Materials
- Computer or laptop with internet access.
- Camera or smartphone to record videos (if opting for the Vlog).
- Research material: books, websites, and videos.
Detailed Step-by-Step

Group Organization: Students will be organized into groups of 3 to 5 members.

Destination Selection: Each group must choose a Spanish-speaking destination for their virtual trip.

Research and Planning: The groups will research their chosen destination, including culture, most common means of transportation, traditions, touristic spots, etc. They will plan an itinerary for the trip, deciding which means of transportation they will use, where they will stay, what activities they will do, etc.

Travel Blog or Vlog Creation: Students will document the entire trip in a Travel Blog or Vlog, where they must use travel and transportation vocabulary extensively. The "trip" must consist of at least three "days", each day focused on a different activity or location.

Review and Practice: Before publishing the final content, students should review all the material, practicing the correct pronunciation and application of vocabulary.

Final Presentation: The groups share their Travel Blog or Vlog with the class, allowing everyone an insight into different cultures and the use of vocabulary in different contexts.
Project Deliverables
At the end of the project, in addition to the Travel Blog or Vlog, students must submit a report in which they will reflect on the learning experience.
This report must contain:
- Introduction: Contextualization of the topic, the relevance of travel and transportation vocabulary for the Spanish language, and an objective description of the project.
- Development: The student should explain the theory behind travel and transportation vocabulary, detail the creation of the Travel Blog or Vlog, the methodology used, and present the results obtained.
- Conclusion: Students revisit the main points, reflect on what they learned during the project, and conclude with their opinions and discoveries.
- Bibliography: Students should list all sources used for research during the project.
