Introduction

In this sense, it is a universal language, allowing scientists from different nationalities to communicate and share their discoveries efficiently.

However, it is important to highlight that this vocabulary is not static. Science is always evolving, and therefore, new terms are created and others fall into disuse as our understanding of the world around us changes. Thus, learning technical-scientific vocabulary involves more than just memorizing words and definitions; it also requires an understanding of how it evolves and adapts over time.

Lastly, it is fundamental to understand the structure of scientific words. Many scientific terms are composed of parts that have specific meanings. Project Objective

Enhance the understanding and use of technical-scientific vocabulary in English, as well as develop socio-emotional skills such as time management, teamwork, creative thinking, and problem-solving.

Detailed Project Description

This project will involve the creation of a short documentary (15-20 minutes) focused on the use of technical-scientific vocabulary in a specific area of science of your choice (e.g., biology, physics, chemistry, etc.).

Each group of 3-5 students should choose a scientific area of interest and conduct an in-depth analysis of the technical-scientific vocabulary used in that area. It should include, but not be limited to, specific terms, jargon, abbreviations, how they are used, their evolution, and the meaning of the parts that compose compound terms.

The groups should investigate the use of this vocabulary in real scientific articles, understand its meaning and context, and finally, present this information in an attractive and understandable way in the format of a documentary. The documentary should be narrated in English and may include interviews, experiments, dramatizations, or any other elements that help demonstrate the use and importance of technical-scientific vocabulary.

Step by Step

1. Form groups of 3 to 5 students.

2. Choose a scientific area of interest.

3. Research and gather a list of relevant technical-scientific vocabulary for the chosen area.

4. Analyze scientific articles and identify the use of this vocabulary.

5. Plan and script your documentary. Think about how you will present the vocabulary, examples you could use, how to make it interesting and engaging, etc.

6. Film your documentary - remember, everything should be narrated in English.

7. Edit the documentary and make sure to add subtitles for all presented vocabulary.

8. Gather to watch and analyze the documentaries created by other groups.

9. Write a report document in the format of a report, containing:

   • Introduction: Here you will contextualize the technical-scientific vocabulary of the chosen area and explain its relevance in the scientific world.

   • Development: Explore the theory behind technical-scientific vocabulary, detail how the activity was, explain the methodology used, and present the results obtained.

   • Conclusion: Summarize the main points of the work, the learnings obtained, and the conclusions drawn about the project.

   • Bibliography: Cite all sources that were used to carry out the project.

The report is a crucial part of the project and should connect all activities carried out. It should be written in English and along with the documentary will serve as the final project submission.
