The Euro is more than a currency, it is a strong symbol of European integration. Established in 1999 and currently used by 19 of the 27 member countries of the European Union (EU), the Euro is the world's second most important currency, behind only the US dollar. This project will seek to understand the mechanisms that govern the Euro and its relationship with other European economic blocs.

European economic blocs, such as the Schengen Area and the Eurozone, are examples of supranational integration that aims at deepening economic and political cooperation among member countries. These blocs have a significant impact on economic policies, trade and financial flows, and even on migration policies. They facilitate the free movement of people, goods, and services, providing greater interconnectedness and strengthening economic relations.

Understanding the Euro and the other European economic blocs allows for a critical analysis of the global economic scenario, as well as fostering discussion about the advantages and challenges of such blocs in the globalized context. This project aims not only to deepen theoretical knowledge but also to develop skills and competencies such as research, cooperation, and critical thinking.

Activity Title: "A European Odyssey: Euro and the European Economic Blocs"

Project Objective

This project aims to provide students with a deeper and practical understanding of the functioning of the Euro and European economic blocs, as well as the interaction between them. Additionally, the project also aims to develop research skills, teamwork, time management, and presentation skills.

Detailed Project Description

Students will be divided into groups of 3 to 5 members. Each group will be assigned to study a specific European economic bloc and its relationship with the Euro, as well as with other blocs of the European Union. They will need to research, analyze, and present their findings in an oral presentation and a written report.

Detailed Step-by-Step for Activity Execution

1. Group Division and Assignment of Economic Blocs: Students will be divided into groups, and each group will be assigned a European economic bloc.

2. Research: Each group must conduct comprehensive research on their assigned economic bloc, focusing on its relationship with the Euro and other blocs of the European Union.

3. Analysis: Each group must analyze their findings, prepare graphics, diagrams, and tables that facilitate the understanding of economic data.

4. Preparation of Oral Presentation: Each group will prepare an oral presentation of up to 20 minutes, summarizing their findings, analyses, and conclusions.

5. Writing the Report: Simultaneously with the preparation of the presentation, each group will write a detailed report in article format, following the structure of Introduction, Development, Conclusions, and Bibliography used.

6. Presentations: The groups will present their findings on a predetermined date to the class and the teacher.

Project Deliverables

Each group must deliver the oral presentation and the written report at the end of the project.

• The oral presentation should include an overview of the assigned economic bloc, its relationship with the Euro and other blocs of the European Union. Additionally, they should present graphics, maps, or tables that clearly illustrate the points discussed.

• The written report should follow the format of an article, containing introduction, development, conclusions, and the bibliography used. In the development section, students should describe the research methodology used, present and discuss the results obtained, and connect key points with the theory learned in the classroom. In the conclusion, students should synthesize the main findings, highlight the lessons learned, and draw conclusions from the project.
