Activity Title: Economy in Action - The Euro and European Economic Blocs

Project Objective:

Understand the role and influence of the Euro and European economic blocs in the contemporary world economy through the creation of an interactive multimedia presentation.

Detailed Project Description:

In this project, groups will be responsible for creating a detailed interactive multimedia presentation on the Euro and European economic blocs. Each group must choose a specific country from the Eurozone or one of the other European economic blocs and investigate the economic relations, benefits, and challenges that this country experiences within the bloc.

Additionally, groups should analyze a recent news story involving their chosen economic bloc and present a critical analysis of that news. They should research the news sources, the context, the individuals involved, and the economic and political implications of the news.

Required Materials:

Computer with internet access, multimedia presentation program (e.g., Powerpoint, Prezi, Google Slides, etc.), research resources (news websites, library, etc.)

Step-by-Step Guide for the Activity:

1. Form groups of 3 to 5 students.
2. Each group must choose a country from the Eurozone or another European economic bloc to focus on in their research.
3. Groups should research the economic relations, benefits, and challenges that their chosen country experiences within the bloc.
4. Students should select a recent news story involving their chosen economic bloc and provide a critical analysis of that news.
5. Create a detailed interactive multimedia presentation that includes: introduction of the chosen country, a description of the economic bloc it is part of, a summary of the economic relations, benefits, and challenges of the country within the bloc, a critical analysis of the selected news story.
6. Present their findings to the class.

Project Deliverables:

Students must deliver the interactive multimedia presentation and a report documenting their research and analysis.

The Report

The report should follow the following format:

1. Introduction: Provide context on the topic, explaining what the Eurozone and other European economic blocs are. Explain the relevance of this topic in the global economy and in people's daily lives.
2. Development: Describe the research and analysis process. Explain the methodology used for the critical analysis of the news. Present and discuss the results obtained.
3. Conclusion: Summarize the main points of the work. Explicit the learnings obtained and the conclusions drawn about the theme of the Eurozone and other European economic blocs, and from the critical analysis of the news.
4. Bibliography: Indicate the sources used to work on the project.

Groups have one week to work on the project, and each group member should plan for two to four hours of work. Remember, this project is evaluated based on the knowledge acquired, teamwork, and mutual collaboration!
