The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), founded in 1949, has been one of the main international organizations dealing with global security issues. Terrorism is a complex phenomenon with various origins, motivations, and methods. In addition to threatening lives and disrupting peace, it also undermines social cohesion, economic development, and political progress. Therefore, understanding how NATO has been combating terrorism is essential to have a comprehensive view of contemporary geopolitics.
Introduction
Initially, NATO focused mainly on providing collective defense for its member countries, primarily against the Soviet Union. Project Objective
This project aims to encourage students to extensively explore the theme of combating terrorism by NATO, consolidate their knowledge about the organization and its policies, and develop research, analysis, and collaboration skills.
Project Description
Students will be divided into groups of 3 to 5, and each group will have to conduct extensive research on NATO's role in combating terrorism. Each group will address the topic from four different perspectives - historical, geopolitical, legal, and humanitarian. The research will cover both theory and practice, focusing not only on NATO's policies and strategies but also on specific cases of its operations.

- Materials for creating a poster or digital presentation (PowerPoint, Prezi, etc.).

Each group will be divided into four subgroups, each responsible for one of the perspectives (historical, geopolitical, legal, and humanitarian).

Each subgroup should conduct in-depth research on their topic, using a variety of sources (books, websites, videos, etc.).

Based on their research, each subgroup should prepare a presentation on their findings. The presentation should include a brief introduction to the topic, a detailed discussion of NATO's strategies and operations related to it, and an analysis of their implications and consequences. Additionally, it should suggest possible improvements or alternatives to NATO's actions.

After creating individual presentations, all group members should come together to integrate the different perspectives into a final presentation. This collaborative work is essential for the project's success.

At the end of the project, students must submit:

- Report containing introduction, development, conclusions, and bibliography.
In the report, the introduction should contextualize the project's theme and objective; the development should explain in detail the methodology used, the activities carried out, and the results achieved; the conclusions should summarize the main lessons learned, conclusions drawn, and recommendations made; and the bibliography should list all sources consulted during the project.
