Introduction
Probability is a vital part of mathematics that encompasses the study of random phenomena. That is, it deals with situations where the outcome is uncertain, but where we can quantify the chances of different results. The central concept of probability is the random event, which are the possible outcomes of a random experiment.
Understanding probability allows us to make quantitative statements about these events. For example, if we toss a fair coin, we can say that the probability of landing on heads is 50%, meaning that if we toss the coin many times, we expect to see heads about half of the time.
The importance of probability theory in mathematics is vast, as it is applied in various areas such as physics, engineering, economics, biology, computer science, and even in gambling games. Furthermore, probability theory is the basis for statistics, a discipline that helps us interpret and analyze data.
Contextualization
The application of probability in the real world is vast and comprehensive, being used in all areas of knowledge. For example, in medicine, probability is used to understand and predict the outcome of drug experiments. In economics, probability is used to make market predictions, and in computer science, probability is used in creating machine learning algorithms, just to name a few examples.
Probability is also used in our daily lives, even if unconsciously. For instance, when we check the weather forecast (which is based on probabilistic calculations) to decide whether we should leave home with an umbrella or when we participate in a raffle, where we calculate (even if intuitively) our chances of winning.
The goal of this project is to introduce the basic concepts of probability in a playful, practical, and engaging way, through group activities that encourage collaborative learning.

Activity Title: "Gambling Games: Understanding Probability"
Project Objective
The objective of this project is for students to understand and apply the basic concepts of probability theory through the performance of a series of "gambling games" and, in the end, be able to correlate theory with practice.
Detailed Project Description
In this project, students will work in groups of 3 to 5 people and will perform a series of "gambling games," involving actions such as rolling dice, drawing cards from a deck, and drawing balls from an urn. After playing the games, the group must analyze the results obtained and compare them with the expected theoretical outcome.
Required Materials
- Dice (at least two six-sided dice)
- A deck of 52 cards
- An urn (or something similar) containing balls of different colors
- Paper and pen for notes

Part I: Theory
- Study the concept of probability and its basic elements, such as experiment, sample space, and event.
- Learn how to calculate the probability of simple events through theory.
Part II: Practice
- Perform the following experiments:
