Theoretical Introduction

Coordination, within grammar, is a syntactic relationship that occurs between two clauses or terms of equal importance within a sentence. Unlike subordination, in which one clause depends on another to make sense, in coordination the clauses are independent and linked by a coordinating conjunction. These can be additive, adversative, explanatory, alternative, conclusive, or proportional, each adding a specific meaning to the connection between the clauses.

Coordination and subordination are two fundamental mechanisms for linking clauses in the Portuguese language. Identifying and using these mechanisms correctly is essential for writing clear and coherent texts. Furthermore, these concepts are often tested in exams, including the ENEM and other entrance exams. Therefore, understanding these concepts is essential for any student.

Coordination is not limited to the discipline of Portuguese. We can find examples of coordination in various other disciplines and everyday situations. In Mathematics, for example, when solving simultaneous equations, we deal with the idea of coordination, since one equation does not depend on the other to exist, although they are interrelated. In History, when studying events that occurred simultaneously in different parts of the world, we also deal with the concept of coordination. When writing an email to a colleague, preparing a presentation for a class, drafting a report for work, we are constantly using coordination to link ideas and express our thoughts clearly and logically. Project Objective

Students will be divided into groups of 3 to 5 members, and each group will have the task of creating and presenting a theatrical play whose script focuses on demonstrating the correct and varied use of grammatical coordination. This play should last at least 15 minutes, and each group member should have a spoken part. Everything must be created by the students themselves, from the construction of the set to the costumes.
