Contextualization
The Portuguese language, as we know it today, is the result of centuries of evolution and changes, just like any living language in constant transformation. A crucial factor in creating meanings, language is the main form of expression and communication among people. However, there are many ways in which language can be manifested and interpreted.
The project 'The reproduction of speeches and their grammar' aims to investigate the complexity and richness of language use through an in-depth analysis of speeches and their grammar. This project will not only provide a more detailed understanding of the language and its structures but also encourage the practice of essential life skills, such as collaboration, communication, and critical thinking.
Portuguese is a Romance language, originated from Latin and spoken in various countries around the world. However, each region has developed its peculiarities in the way of speaking and writing. One of the most striking and challenging characteristics of our language is the fact that spoken language is different from written language. These differences manifest themselves in various ways, including pronunciation, rhythm, intonation, the use of slang, and regional expressions, among others.
The importance of this project lies in a deeper understanding of our language and its grammar, which is essential for good communication and expression of ideas. Furthermore, it is a way to recognize the diversity present in the Portuguese language and to value the different forms of expression.
Practical Activity: 'From Speech to Speech: A Linguistic and Cultural Analysis'
Project Objective
The objective of this project is to explore and deepen the knowledge about the existing differences between speech and writing in the Portuguese language, understand how grammar reflects in these two aspects, and also understand how local culture influences the way we speak.
To achieve these objectives, it will be necessary for the group to conduct research, analysis, and reports on both the Portuguese language as a whole and the linguistic variation in different regions of Brazil.
Detailed Project Description
The groups, composed of 3 to 5 students, should choose a Brazilian region or state and conduct a detailed study on the speech and grammar used by its inhabitants. The groups should research and analyze the main characteristics of spoken Portuguese in that region, the grammatical peculiarities, the slang and idiomatic expressions used, as well as the cultural influence on speech.
The activity should be carried out over a period of two to three months, with weekly meetings among group members for discussion and project development. It is recommended that each group member dedicate themselves to a specific part of the project, whether it be research, data analysis, or the preparation of the final report.
