Understanding these differences is fundamental for the understanding of our own language and for the valorization of the distinct cultures that make up our country.

Project Objective

This project aims to provide students with the opportunity to research, experience, and document linguistic variations present in everyday life, promoting the valorization of cultural and linguistic diversity in our country. Students will also have the opportunity to improve socio-emotional skills such as teamwork, effective communication, time management, problem-solving, and creative thinking.

Detailed Project Description

Forming groups of 3 to 5 students, the task for the students is to document the different linguistic variations found in their communities and/or in reliable sources of research, such as books, cultural artifacts, music, films, among others. Each group will choose four linguistic variants for their study: regional, social, stylistic, and historical variation. Linguistic ideology will also be a point of study, with reflection on the presence of linguistic prejudice. Students will investigate the origin, uses, and characteristics of these variations, as well as present concrete examples.

Required Materials

1. Internet access for research.
2. Camera (optional) to document the linguistic variations found.
3. Writing materials for notes and preparation of the final report.
4. Art materials for creating visual presentations (posters, images, etc.).

Detailed Step-by-Step Guide for the Activity

1. Group Formation: Divide into groups of 3 to 5 people. Each team should assign specific tasks to group members to ensure an efficient workflow.

2. Selection and Research of Linguistic Variations: Each group should choose four linguistic variations (regional, social, stylistic, and historical) to investigate. Use different sources to gather information about the chosen variants.

3. Documentation: Record your findings in detail. This may include written notes, photographs, audio or video recordings, drawings, etc.

4. Critical Analysis and Reflection: Discuss within the group about the collected information. Highlight the importance of each variation in communication and cultural expression. Analyze and reflect on the presence of linguistic prejudice.

5. Final Report: Each group must prepare a detailed written project report. The report should include the following elements:

   5.1 Introduction: Provide context for the project theme, its relevance and real-world application, and the project's objective.

6. Work Presentation: Each group will present their work to the class. The presentation should be creative and engaging, promoting respect and valorization of linguistic variations.

Project Deliverables

Groups must submit the Final Report documenting all work done, as well as a presentation of the work to the class. Both deliveries should demonstrate a deep understanding of linguistic variations and their importance for cultural expression and effective communication. Additionally, students are expected to demonstrate socio-emotional competencies during the project execution.
