Considering the relevance of this grammatical concept, the proposal of this project is to allow you, students, to explore and understand in a practical and fun way the use and application of subordination in the Portuguese language.

Practical Activity: "Unraveling subordination through Theater"

Project Objective

The objective of this project is to provide students with the opportunity to explore and understand the concept of subordination in a fun and engaging language: the art of theater. Through the creation of short theater plays, students will explore the use of subordination in different contexts and situations.

Detailed Project Description

Each group (from 3 to 5 students) will be responsible for creating, rehearsing, and presenting a short theater play (5 to 10 minutes) that must contain three scenes. In each scene, students should use a different type of subordination (substantive, adjectival, and adverbial subordination). The scenes should be staged in a way that the use of each type of subordination is highlighted and has an important function in the context.

Materials Needed

Students will need paper and pen to write the play scripts, and may use costumes and props to make the presentations more fun and attractive. The use of a suitable space for the presentations will be necessary.

Detailed Step-by-Step for Carrying Out the Activity

1. Study the material on subordination and research other resources if necessary.
2. Gather your group and discuss ideas for the theater play. Remember, each scene should use a different type of subordination.
3. Write a draft of the play script.
4. Review the draft of the script with your group, making sure each scene uses the correct type of subordination.
5. Finalize and write the final script of the play.
6. Rehearse the play with your group. Adjust the script if necessary during rehearsals.
7. Present the play to the class.
8. After the presentation, write a report explaining how subordination was used in each scene of the play.

   • Introduction: Should contain the contextualization of the subordination theme and the objective of this project.

   • Conclusions: Recap the main points, the learnings obtained, and the conclusions drawn about subordination and the project execution.
   • Bibliography: Indicate the sources that were used to work on the project such as books, web pages, videos, etc.

The deliverables are connected to the suggested activity as follows: by creating and presenting the theater play, students are practically exploring the concept of subordination. By writing the script, they are putting into practice the theory learned about subordination. By presenting to the class, they are working on communication skills and teamwork. Finally, by writing the report, they are reflecting on the learning obtained and relating practice to theory.
