Project Objective
The objective of this project is for you to collaboratively create a physical model of cyclic hydrocarbons and develop an expository presentation on the topic, highlighting the importance of these compounds, the logic behind their nomenclature, and their practical applications.
Detailed Project Description
Divide into groups of 3 to 5 students, each choosing a cyclic hydrocarbon of interest for the work. The group should research the structure, properties, uses, and importance of this hydrocarbon in everyday life and industry.
In parallel, using the suggested materials (or others of your choice), the group should build a physical model of the molecule of the chosen hydrocarbon, highlighting its cyclic structure. This model will be presented to the class, along with an oral presentation on the compound.
Necessary Materials
To carry out the project, the following materials will be needed:

Materials for the elaboration of the molecular model: these may include, but are not limited to: Styrofoam spheres, barbecue sticks, playdough, wire, etc. The choice of material is up to the group, the important thing is to faithfully represent the cyclic structure of the hydrocarbon.

Step-by-Step Guide to Completing the Activity
- Form a group with your classmates (3 to 5 students per group).

- Start researching the chosen hydrocarbon, focusing on its structure, properties, uses and importance.
- Based on the research, build a physical model of the molecule of the chosen hydrocarbon. Each carbon atom and each bond can be represented by spheres and sticks (or any other chosen material), respectively.
- Prepare a presentation where you will explain the topic to the class. Include in the presentation the display of the model built and the discussion on the importance of the cyclic hydrocarbon.
