Project Objective

This project aims to promote a deep understanding of nitriles and isonitriles, their reactivity patterns, properties, and applications. In addition, students should develop skills in group work, scientific investigation, report writing, and presentation of results.

Detailed Project Description

Students will be divided into groups of 3 to 5 members. Each group must choose a nitrile or isonitrile of interest and carry out a series of theoretical studies and experiments aiming to understand the properties and application of this compound.

Theoretical Study

The theoretical study will be based on reading and discussing didactic materials and scientific articles about the chosen nitrile or isonitrile. Students should gather information about the chemical structure of the compound, its mode of obtaining, relevant chemical reactions, properties, and application.
