Acyl Halides are a group of organic compounds that have a halogen atom attached to an acyl group. These compounds are very important in the field of organic chemistry as they have a variety of applications.

In the industry, acyl halides are often used in the synthesis of a variety of chemicals, including plastics, resins, dyes, and medicines. They are also used as solvents and reagents in various chemical reactions. Additionally, due to their flame inhibitory properties, they are used in the manufacturing of flame retardant materials. Despite their importance, it is essential to understand that acyl halides, especially those containing chlorine and bromine, can be harmful to the environment as they contribute to ozone layer depletion.
