During its reign, Rome consolidated its dominance through a combination of skilled governance practices, sophisticated infrastructure like roads and water systems, and a rich and complex culture that included literature, philosophy, and art.

The Roman Empire was a complex mosaic of cultures, traditions, and beliefs. It was a society marked by class differences and inequalities. Activity Title: Recreating Ancient Rome

Project Objective

The objective of this project is to create a detailed model or interactive digital environment of the Roman Empire, incorporating its key political, economic, social, and cultural landmarks.

Detailed Project Description

Groups will research the city of Rome and its main landmarks (Colosseum, Forum, aqueducts, etc.), as well as its social and cultural aspects (daily life, social hierarchy, festivals, religion, among others). Based on this research, students must select key aspects to be represented in the model or digital environment.

The model must be accompanied by a 15-minute oral presentation, where each group member explains an aspect of the Roman Empire represented in the model. The presentation should address the historical and cultural significance of the chosen element, as well as its relevance to contemporary society.

In the case of choosing a digital environment, students must develop a virtual guided tour, where they explain the represented elements in a similar manner.

Required Materials

For a model:

• Cardboard, styrofoam, or cardboard
• Acrylic paint
• Brushes
• Glue
• Scissors
• Printed graphic resources (if necessary)

For a digital environment:

• 3D design software like SketchUp or Blender
• Computer with adequate specifications to run the necessary programs
