Title: Optics in Action: Light Refraction and Reflection
Project Objective
The objective of this project is to apply the theory of geometric optics in practical experiments, particularly in the reflection and refraction of light, to enhance students' understanding of the subject and develop their skills in scientific experimentation and documentation.
Project Description
The groups, composed of 3 to 5 students, will design and conduct experiments to explore two fundamental laws of geometric optics: the law of reflection and the law of refraction, based on appropriate experimental methodology. This way, students will be able to observe and experience optical phenomena in practice, reinforcing their understanding and familiarity with the theory.

Detailed Step-by-Step

Reflection: Using the flat mirror, students will conduct experiments to verify the law of reflection, which states that the angle of incidence is equal to the angle of reflection. They will draw the trajectory of the light rays and measure the angles using the protractor.

Refraction: Using the optical prism, students will test the law of refraction, also known as Snell's Law, which suggests a specific relationship between the angle of incidence and the angle of refraction. Again, the trajectory of the light rays should be drawn, and the angles involved measured.
Students should repeat the experiments several times to ensure the consistency of the results. It is also important that they record their observations and results to be included in their final report.
Project Deliverables and Document Writing
The final deliverable should be a detailed report documenting the entire process and the results of the experiments. The report should contain an Introduction, where students will contextualize the theme of geometric optics, explain the relevance and real-world applications, and define the project's objective. In the Development section, students will need to describe in detail the theory of geometric optics, explain the experiments conducted, discuss the methodology, and the results obtained. The Conclusion should summarize the main points of the report, reflect on what was learned during the project, and draw conclusions about the work. Finally, the Bibliography should list all external sources used for the project.
The final report plays an essential role in the project evaluation because, in addition to documenting the work done, it will demonstrate the students' ability to effectively communicate their findings and understandings on the subject.
