The study of vocabulary is fundamental in any language study, as it provides the necessary tools for understanding and effective communication in the target language. For the Spanish language, it is no different. With that in mind, this project focuses on studying the vocabulary of parts of the house, objects, and materials commonly used in residences. Mastering these terms will not only expand students' vocabulary but also allow them to describe and discuss home settings in a detailed, clear, and precise manner.

Let's delve a little deeper into why we chose to focus on parts of the house and household items. The house, and everything it contains, plays a crucial role in our daily lives. It is a place where we spend a lot of time and holds a special meaning in our lives. Therefore, the terms associated with it are often used in everyday conversations, stories, and even in metaphors. This makes this vocabulary extremely relevant for any Spanish student.

Furthermore, we cannot disregard the importance of the socio-emotional skills cultivated in this project. Group work requires students to manage time, communicate effectively, and solve problems together. In addition to contributing to the building of a strong team spirit, the skills acquired will be important in their future professional careers and personal lives.

Practical Activity: "Creating the Dream House"

Project Objectives:

1. Expand students' vocabulary in the Spanish language by focusing on parts of the house, objects, and materials.
2. Develop socio-emotional skills such as time management, effective communication, problem-solving, and creative thinking.

Project Description:

In this activity, groups of 3 to 5 students will create the "Dream House" using Spanish vocabulary. Each group will be responsible for conceiving a complete house, including all parts of a house and the objects inside it. The groups must also select the materials used in the construction and decoration of the house and name them correctly in Spanish.

Materials Needed:

1. A4 paper or cardboard to draw the house plan.
2. Pencils, colored pens, and markers for drawing and coloring.
3. Spanish dictionaries for vocabulary consultation.
4. Research materials such as books and internet access.

Step by Step:

1. Divide the class into groups of 3 to 5 students. Announce the project theme and distribute the instructions.

2. Students begin by discussing and researching the Spanish terms necessary to describe a house and the objects inside it. They should also research the terms for construction and decoration materials.

3. Based on the research, each group creates a design for their "Dream House," drawing a floor plan of the house on paper. Each part of the house must be labeled in Spanish, and all objects and materials used must also be named in Spanish.

4. The students should then prepare an oral presentation for the class, in which they describe their house using the correct Spanish vocabulary.

5. After the presentation, students should produce a detailed written report of the Dream House, including:

• Introduction: The student must contextualize the theme - vocabulary of parts of the house, objects, and materials, their relevance and real-world application as well as the purpose of this project.

• Development: Students must present the theory behind the studied vocabulary, explain the activity in detail, indicate the methodology used, and finally present and discuss the Dream House created.

• Conclusion: Students must conclude the work by summarizing their main points, explaining the learnings obtained, and drawing conclusions about the project.

• Bibliography: Students must indicate the sources they relied on to work on the project such as books, web pages, videos, etc.

Each section of the report should reflect the work done in the practical activity. The focus of the Introduction should be on the importance and practical application of the vocabulary of parts of the house, objects, and materials. The Development should detail the process of creating the Dream House, the choice of vocabulary, and its implementation in the project. The Conclusion should focus on the learnings obtained through the project, both in terms of vocabulary and socio-emotional skills. Finally, the Bibliography should list all sources consulted during the project development.

The project should be delivered in one month, and the expectation is that each student dedicates between five to ten hours of work for its completion.
