These are specific types of texts that differ in structures, objectives, and contexts in which they are used. Therefore, understanding and being able to effectively use different textual genres is a crucial skill in a global and diverse society.

Textual genres involve a wide variety of texts that we use in our daily lives. From the most formal, such as opinion articles, essays, reports, to the most informal ones like text messages, social media posts, blog comments, among others. By understanding and mastering different textual genres, we are able to express ourselves appropriately in different contexts, meeting specific purposes and audiences.

In this project, we will delve especially into textual genres in the Spanish language. The Spanish language, spoken by more than 460 million people as a first language, is one of the most spoken languages in the world. Mastering textual genres in Spanish can open doors to studies, careers, and networking opportunities in many countries, besides being a valuable tool in our globalized world.

Practical Activity

Activity Title: "Discovering Textual Genres in Spanish"

Project Objective

Through a journey through different textual genres in Spanish, students will practice the production of various texts, developing writing and comprehension skills as well as the ability to identify and differentiate the various textual genres.

Detailed Project Description

Groups, composed of 3 to 5 students, should research and produce texts in three different genres: an opinion article, an informal letter, and a book review. The texts must be written in Spanish and respect the characteristics and formalities of each textual genre.

Required Materials

1. Internet access for research.
2. Text editing program (Microsoft Word, Google Docs, etc.)
3. Books, magazines, websites, among others for consultation and models.

Detailed Step-by-Step

1. Research: Start with an in-depth research on the three chosen textual genres. Seek to understand the characteristics, structure, and typical language of each.

2. Discussion and Planning: Discuss as a group the information gathered in the research and start planning the texts. Define the topic of the opinion article, to whom the informal letter will be addressed, and which book will be reviewed.

3. Writing the Texts: Each group member should actively participate in writing the texts. Remember that each textual genre has its particularities and should reflect that in its writing.

4. Revision and Improvement: After being written, the texts should be revised and improved. Check if the characteristics of each textual genre are present and if the language is appropriate.

5. Final Document: Organize the texts clearly and coherently, giving each a title and separating them clearly.

The group must deliver the three texts produced (opinion article, informal letter, and review) in a single document. Additionally, they must produce a detailed report on the project.

Project Report

The report must be written in Spanish and contain the following elements:

1. Introduction: Provide context on the theme and the relevance of textual genres. Explain the objective of this project.

2. Development: Explain the theory behind textual genres. Describe the activity in detail, including the methodology used in research, the writing and revision process, and the results obtained.

3. Conclusion: Summarize your main points and explain the learnings obtained. Report the conclusions drawn from the project.

4. Bibliography: Indicate the sources used for research and project development.

Remember that both the texts produced and the report will be evaluated not only for content but also for the correct use of Spanish and the ability to work in a group.
