Practical Activity

Activity Title: "Exploring Language through the Arts"

Objective:

To investigate and demonstrate the use of moods, tenses, voices, nominal forms, and verbal phrases in various artistic expressions, including literature, music, and theater.

Project Description

Students will be divided into groups of three to five people. Each group will be responsible for selecting a work of art—a literary text, a song, or a play—and analyzing how the grammar elements in question are used in it.

Groups should prepare a presentation on their analysis, which can include an artistic performance, group discussion, slide show, etc. Additionally, each group should prepare a detailed written report explaining the use of grammatical concepts in their work.

Required Materials:

• Artwork selected by the groups
• Access to the internet for research
• Presentation resources (e.g., slide presentation software, musical instruments, costumes for theater, etc.)

Step by Step:

1. Divide the students into groups of three to five people. 2.  Each group chooses a work of art to analyze. 3.  The groups must investigate and discuss the concepts of moods, tenses, voices, nominal forms, and verbal phrases in the chosen artwork. 4.  The groups must prepare a presentation of their analysis. This presentation will vary in format depending on the chosen work of art. 5.  Additionally, each group prepares a written report explaining how they used the grammatical concepts in the work. 6.  Students have ample time (we recommend at least 12 hours per student) to prepare and work on their presentation. 7.  Once they are ready, the groups present their analysis to the class.

Deliverables:

A written report will be submitted after the presentation. This report should have an introduction explaining the project objective and the relevance of the addressed topic as well as a development explaining the theory of the grammatical concepts, the activity in detail, the methodology used, and the presentation and discussion of the obtained results. It must also have a conclusion reiterating the main points and discussing what they have learned during the project. In addition, they must include a bibliography with the sources used for the project.

The project will assess not only the students' knowledge of grammatical concepts but also their teamwork skills, creativity, presentation skills, and writing skills.
