Learning a new language can seem like a daunting task due to the large amount of vocabulary we need to master. In particular, the vocabulary surrounding the house and its objects and materials is a fundamental part of learning, as it is one of the most basic and everyday topics we use to interact in daily situations. But don't worry! In this project, we will learn this in a fun and engaging way!

Theoretical Introduction

The Spanish language, currently spoken by more than 460 million people worldwide as a first language, has a wealth of words and expressions that are used in different ways depending on the country or region. Therefore, it is necessary to know the vocabulary and nuances of the language well to communicate efficiently. Therefore, this project will focus on expanding your knowledge of vocabulary related to parts of the house, objects, and materials in Spanish.

The house is a vital space where a large part of our time is spent. Understanding the vocabulary associated with this space allows us to describe our environment, share experiences and experiences, and of course, ask for things or directions within a house. In addition, the vocabulary of objects and materials in a house is essential for any conversation or description of daily activities.

Finally, through language learning, it is possible to acquire not only linguistic knowledge but also social and cultural skills that are of great relevance to the individual, social, and intercultural development of students.

Project Context

This project aims to develop the vocabulary knowledge of the house, objects, and materials in Spanish. In addition, the project seeks to integrate the use of this vocabulary in practical contexts that engage students in creative and collaborative activities, as well as develop socio-emotional skills such as time management, communication, problem-solving, and creative thinking.

In this way, students will have the opportunity to apply the learned vocabulary in a practical context, simulating various real situations of language use. This project challenges each student to explore, create, collaborate, and express themselves in a new language, making learning more relevant and meaningful.

Activity Title: "My Ideal House in Spanish"

Project Objective

The objective of this project is to put into practice the Spanish vocabulary related to the house, objects, and materials, providing students with a space to develop their communicative, creative, and collaborative skills in the Spanish language.

Detailed Project Description

You, in groups of 3 to 5 students, must design the house of your dreams in detail, using the Spanish vocabulary of house, objects, and materials. You must not only draw the house project but also describe in Spanish each space, its objects, and the materials used.

In addition, you will have to produce a 10 to 15-minute video presenting the house project in Spanish. The video should include a "tour" of the dream house, with you describing each part and what a typical routine in the house would be like.

This project requires planning, creativity, collaboration, and effective application of Spanish vocabulary. Each group member must actively collaborate in the different stages and tasks.

Required Materials

• Paper and pens to draw the dream house plan
• Dictionaries and reference materials for vocabulary research
• Camera to record the house presentation (can be a smartphone)
• Computer with video editing software to assemble the presentation

Detailed Steps

1. Group Formation and Work Planning: Form groups of 3 to 5 students and plan how to divide the tasks. Remember, each group member must contribute to each stage of the project.

2. Vocabulary Research: Research together the vocabulary needed to describe a house, its objects, and materials. Use the recommended sources above.

3. Drawing the Dream House: Draw the dream house plan, detailing each room. Ensure that the drawn project is rich in details so that you can describe it properly in Spanish.

4. Description in Spanish: Describe in Spanish each part of the house, the objects, and the materials. Practice pronunciation and fluency among yourselves.

5. Video Recording: Record the house presentation video, with each student describing a part of the house. Make sure the description is interesting and engaging.

6. Video Editing: Edit the video to make it more attractive and engaging, adding Spanish subtitles, for example.

7. Final Review: Review the work, ensuring that all project components are complete and of high quality.

8. Project Submission: Submit the finalized video and written description.

Project Submission

Groups must submit the video of the dream house presentation and a written report. The report should include the following topics:

1. Introduction: Provide context for the project, explain the objectives, and the relevance of learning vocabulary related to the house, objects, and materials in Spanish.

2. Development: Explain the project creation process, the steps taken, and the challenges encountered. Describe the dream house, the objects, and materials used. Comment on the vocabulary learned and how it was used in practice. Talk about the video production, difficulties, and successes.

3. Conclusions: Present the conclusions drawn from the project. Comment on the learning obtained, both in terms of vocabulary and in terms of other skills developed.

4. Bibliography: List the sources consulted for the project, from books to reference websites.

By completing this project, students should have acquired a deep understanding of the Spanish vocabulary related to the house, objects, and materials. In addition, they should have developed important skills, such as teamwork, project planning, communication, and presentation in Spanish.

The project should take more than twelve hours per participating student to be executed and should involve subjects beyond Spanish, such as Arts (in the conception and drawing of the dream house) and Technology (in the production and editing of the video).
