The Portuguese language is rich and has a series of elements that, when well understood, can greatly facilitate our communication. Among them are pronouns. They have a series of classifications and functions within grammar that help in the construction of a good sentence. In this project, we will focus on three of their classifications: Relative, Indefinite, and Interrogative pronouns.

Pronouns are classes of words that replace or accompany other terms in the sentence. They can replace a noun, indicate a person in the discourse, or refer to a term previously mentioned in the text. These are important divisions, as they bring a great variability to the sentence, allowing the same concept to be expressed in several different ways, bringing richness and diversity to the language.

Relative pronouns are those that refer to a term previously mentioned in the sentence and, at the same time, introduce new information to that term. Indefinite pronouns refer to the third person of the discourse in a vague, imprecise way. Finally, Interrogative pronouns are used to form direct or indirect questions.

Importance and Application

Understanding how pronouns work is essential for us to communicate clearly and efficiently, whether in writing or speaking. In addition, the correct use of these elements can help us interpret texts, books, news, and even in the development of speeches and arguments in our daily lives.

In professional areas such as journalism, law, advertising, among others, the good use of the Portuguese language is fundamental for the performance of activities. Therefore, knowing the pronouns, their classification, and their applications can be the differential when ensuring quality communication.

Practical Activity

Project Title: "Exploring the Universe of Pronouns: Relative, Indefinite, and Interrogative".

Project Objective

The objective of this project is for students to explore and learn in a playful and collaborative way about relative, indefinite, and interrogative pronouns. The project will allow students to improve their technical skills in language and communication, as well as develop socio-emotional skills such as time management, problem-solving, creative thinking, proactivity, and teamwork.

Detailed Project Description

Students will be divided into groups of 3 to 5 people, and each group will prepare a theatrical presentation where relative, indefinite, and interrogative pronouns will be the protagonists. The narrative of the play must be creative and engaging for the audience and at the same time must highlight the correct use of these pronouns.

The actors will represent each type of pronoun and will interact in various situations where they will have to demonstrate the characteristics and functions of these pronouns. At the end of the presentation, each group must explain the logic behind the play, highlighting the learning points related to pronouns.

Required Materials

• Paper and colored pens for script and notes.
• Recording devices (can be a simple smartphone).
• Internet access for research.
• Clothing and props for characterizing the characters (optional).

Detailed Step-by-Step for Project Execution

1. Each group should meet and discuss ideas for creating a story in which pronouns are the focus. The group must specifically insert relative, indefinite, and interrogative pronouns into the plot in a meaningful way, demonstrating an understanding of the application and function of these pronouns.

2. Write the script of the play, including scene descriptions, dialogues, and actions that highlight the uses of pronouns.

3. Review the script, ensuring that all pronouns are being used correctly and that the objective of the play is clear.

4. Rehearsal: groups must practice the play. At this point, they can decide whether or not to use clothing and props to help characterize the characters.

5. Filming: record the theatrical presentation.

6. Video editing (if necessary).

7. Final presentation: each group will present their play on video and explain the logic of the scenes and the learning points related to pronouns.

Project Delivery

In addition to the theatrical presentation, each group will deliver a report with the following sections:

• Introduction: The group will explain the choice of the plot of the theatrical play and the relevance of studying pronouns in communication.

• Development: In this section, the group must explain the theory studied and explain how it was applied in practice during the theatrical play. It is important to emphasize which pronouns were used and why those specific ones were chosen. The detailing of the methodology applied in the project, as well as the difficulties encountered and how they were overcome, should also be discussed.

• Conclusions: The group should reflect on what they learned during the project, which skills were developed, and how this experience can influence their future communications and studies of the Portuguese language.

• Bibliography: The group must list all sources of information used in the project, such as books, websites, videos, among others.

The expected duration for the project is one week with an approximate time investment of 2 to 4 hours per student.
