Project Objective

Detailed Project Description
Students will be divided into groups of 3 to 5, and each group will be a team of 'Conquerors of the Arithmetic Mean.' Each team will have the mission to investigate and calculate the arithmetic means of various data sets, related to topics ranging from sports to economics and natural sciences. The data will be provided by the teacher, but students will have the freedom to choose which data set they would like to work on.
For each mean they correctly calculate, the students will conquer a 'mean territory.' The territory is a visual representation on paper of the mean value. For example, if the students find a mean of 5, they will draw a territory with 5 units vertically. The territories of all teams will be aggregated on a large map of 'arithmetic means,' allowing students to see the differences and relationships between different means.

Step-by-Step Guide for the Activity
- The teacher will form the groups and distribute the data sets to each one.
