Context
Sequences are important in Mathematics because they help to understand patterns and relationships between numbers. In fact, sequences are present in various other fields beyond Mathematics, such as Music and Visual Arts. Music, for example, is essentially a sequence of notes and rhythms, while visual patterns also tend to follow particular sequences.
There are several types of sequences, but in this project, we will focus on the classification between recursive and non-recursive sequences. A sequence is recursive when the next term in the sequence depends on the previous terms. On the other hand, a non-recursive sequence has terms that can be calculated independently of the previous terms.
Practical Activity - 'Deciphering Sequences'
Project Objective
The objective of this project is to stimulate students' ability to recognize, classify, and create mathematical sequences, specifically recursive and non-recursive sequences, and to prepare a detailed report explaining the work process, the mathematical concepts used, and the learning experience.
Detailed Project Description
Groups of 3 to 5 students will work together to identify, create, and explore different types of mathematical sequences. Each group will be responsible for presenting a set of sequences, classifying them as recursive or non-recursive, and creating a detailed report of their findings.

Step by Step
- Concept Review: Start the project by reviewing the concept of mathematical sequences, especially recursive and non-recursive sequences.
- Identification of Sequences: Next, identify at least five different mathematical sequences, which can be found in various ways - whether in textbooks, on the internet, or even created by the students themselves.
- Classification of Sequences: Classify the identified sequences as recursive or non-recursive. If necessary, use recursion to calculate some terms of the sequences.
- Group Discussion: Discuss as a group about the classification of sequences and the processes used to determine them.
- Report Elaboration: As a group, write a report detailing the entire process, the theory used, and the conclusions reached.

Upon completion of the project, each group must deliver a detailed report containing the following sections:
