Our world is extremely diverse, full of different cultures, varied ecosystems, and a rich history of migrations and transformations that have shaped our societies and our environment. This project focuses on exploring and understanding the diversity of our world and the constant transformations it undergoes.

Introduction

In the field of Geography, global diversity is a broad and complex theme that addresses various areas, from cultural and linguistic differences between nations to the diversity of wildlife and ecosystems in different parts of the globe. At the same time, transformation is integral to understanding our world, as it deals with how things change and evolve, whether through natural processes or human action.

This project will address four key topics:

1. Cultural Diversity
2. Biological Diversity
3. Human Migrations
4. Geographic Transformations

All these elements intertwine in complex and interesting ways, and by exploring these topics, we can begin to better understand our world and how things are always changing and evolving.

Contextualization

In an increasingly interconnected world, understanding diversity and transformation is essential. Understanding diversity helps us to value and respect the differences around us, and to understand how these differences have been shaped over time through migrations and transformations.

On the other hand, transformation is an essential part of life on Earth. Whether through the gradual erosion of a river that changes the landscape, the migration of people from one country to another in search of better opportunities, or the evolution of culture and society, transformation is constant and unavoidable.

Practical Activity

Activity Title: "Diversity and Transformations: A Journey Around the World"

Project Objective

The objective of the project is to develop in students an understanding of the various cultures, biomes, human migrations, and geographic transformations around the world. Students will be tasked with researching relevant topics and applying their knowledge to create a multimedia presentation, which will be shared with the class.

Detailed Project Description

Students will be organized into groups of three to five students. Each group will be tasked with exploring a specific continent in relation to the four mentioned topics: cultural diversity, biological diversity, human migrations, and geographic transformations.

The project will be divided into four main stages:

1. Research and Planning
2. Execution
3. Creation of the Report
4. Final Presentation

Required Materials

• Books, articles, and online resources for research
• Computer with internet access
• Video editing or presentation software (PowerPoint, Google Slides, etc.)
• Materials for creating models or cultural artifacts (optional)

Detailed Step-by-Step for Activity Execution

1. Research and Planning

Each group will start by researching their assigned continent. They should explore the cultural and biological diversity of the continent, the human migrations that have occurred, and the geographic transformations the continent has experienced over time.

Details to be researched may include, but are not limited to:

• Main cultural groups and characteristics
• Unique biomes and species
• Significant migratory movements and their impacts
• Geographical changes, whether due to erosion, tectonic movements, human activities, etc.

2. Execution

After the research, the groups should start compiling their findings for the presentation. Students can be creative with this - they can create a slide presentation, a video, a podcast, a play, a model, among others.

3. Creation of the Report

In parallel with the execution, the groups should start writing the report. This document will be in the format of an academic report, including the following main topics:

• Introduction: The relevance of the theme, the project's objective, and a contextualization of the studied continent.
• Development: The theory behind the project's central topics, the research and execution methodology used, presentation of the findings, and discussion of the same.
• Conclusion: Recap of the main points, the learnings obtained, and the conclusions drawn on the studied topic.
• Bibliography: Indication of the sources used for the project.

4. Final Presentation

Finally, each group will present the result of their work to the rest of the class. This stage should include an oral exposition of the main points of the research conducted and the conclusions obtained, as well as the presentation of the material produced (video, slide presentation, model, etc).

Project Delivery

The project delivery will consist of two main components:

1. Written Report: Should contain the entire research and work development process, covering all four topics in the format of an academic report (Introduction, Development, Conclusion, and Bibliography).

2. Multimedia Presentation: Should be a visual or auditory presentation of the work, which can range from a slide presentation or video to a model or play.

These components aim to achieve two purposes: the first is to assess students' ability to conduct detailed research and organize their thoughts clearly and cohesively. The second is to assess students' collaboration, communication, and creativity skills, which are extremely relevant for the 21st century.
