It is characterized by immense deserts, such as the Sahara and the Kalahari, but also by lush equatorial forests and savannas.

Students will work in teams to collect, analyze, and present information on key aspects of Africa, culminating in the creation of a detailed map and a report.

Detailed Project Description

The project will be carried out in groups of 3 to 5 students. Each group will be responsible for investigating and presenting a geographical aspect of Africa, along with the animal and plant species associated with it, and the predominant human uses and occupations. The work will be divided into two main parts: research and information collection, and map design and report writing.

Part 1 - Research and Information Collection

Students must conduct detailed research on the geographical aspect assigned to them, using the suggested sources and other reliable sources of their choice. They should gather information on the physical characteristics of the region (e.g., climate, soil, vegetation), the native animal and plant species of the region, and the predominant human uses and occupations.

Students should also investigate the interactions between these elements (e.g., how climate and soil influence species distribution and land use).

Part 2 - Map Design and Report Writing

The second part of the project involves creating a detailed map of the studied region, including the representation of physical characteristics, native species, and human land uses. Students should apply cartography techniques to create a clear, accurate, and informative map.

In parallel with map design, students must write a report explaining the information collected and represented on the map. The report should include an introduction, development, and conclusions, as well as a bibliography.
