Activity Title: "Exploring the World of Roots"

Project Objective

Develop skills to calculate square and cube roots of rational and irrational numbers and apply this knowledge in everyday situations. Learn to work in a team, distribute tasks, and consolidate knowledge through the preparation of a report.

Project Description

Students will be divided into groups of 3 to 5 people. Each group will receive a list of problems to solve, each involving the application of square and cube roots. The problems will be related to real-world situations, such as calculating distances, volumes, areas, and other situations involving the application of square and cube roots.

Groups should discuss and solve the problems together, dividing tasks among themselves and collaborating to find the answers. Each student will have the opportunity to play different roles within the group, such as leadership, secretarial, researcher, etc. The final goal is the production of a collective report where all the problems will be detailed, explained, and the solutions presented.

Required Materials

  1. List of various problems involving the calculation of square and cube roots.
  2. Paper and pen for notes.

  2. Deliver the list of problems to each group.
