Physical Exercise Demands

Contextualization

Physical Education is a discipline that aims at the integral development of the student through the practice of physical activities. One of the issues we will address in this project is the 'Demand of physical exercises'. It is important to understand that each type of exercise requires different levels of effort and physical conditioning, and that these demands must be adapted for each person, taking into account their abilities and limits.

The benefits of physical exercises for health are numerous, including improvement in physical conditioning, prevention of diseases, increased self-esteem, and psychological well-being. However, it is essential to consider individual limitations and needs when designing an exercise plan. Excessive practice of physical exercises, without proper supervision, can lead to health problems such as muscle injuries and heart issues.

Another aspect to be considered is the use of medications to enhance performance or potentiate body transformations. Although some medications promise quick and impactful results, the misuse of these products can pose serious health risks.

The demand of physical exercises is, therefore, a topic of great relevance not only for the Physical Education discipline but also for our daily lives. Understanding the demands of each type of exercise and how to adapt them to our needs is essential for a healthy and beneficial practice.

To start our learning journey, I suggest consulting the following resources:

  1. Book 'Physical Education and Health: Studies and Propositions' by Mauro Betti and Wagner dos Santos. This book is an excellent source of information on the relationship between physical activity and health.
  2. Article 'Physical exercise and blood pressure control' published in the Brazilian Journal of Sports Medicine. This article discusses the benefits of regular physical exercise for blood pressure control.
  3. Video 'Physical exercises and health' from the Youtube channel Drauzio Varella. In this video, Dr. Drauzio Varella explains the importance of regular physical activity for health maintenance.

Remember, the goal of this project is not only to acquire theoretical knowledge on the subject but also to develop socio-emotional skills such as time management, communication, problem-solving, creative thinking, and proactivity.

Practical Activity - 'The Equation of Physical Exercise: Knowledge, Planning, and Practice'

Project Objective

The objective of this project is to research, plan, and practice a healthy and individualized physical exercise program. During this process, students should identify and discuss the bodily demands of different programs, the issue of excessive practice of physical exercises, and the use of medications to enhance performance or potentiate body transformations.

Detailed Project Description

Students, divided into groups of 3 to 5, must choose three different types of physical exercises to investigate. Each student in the group must then perform one of the chosen physical exercise programs (always respecting their own limits and health restrictions), document their experiences and impressions, and share them with the group.

Therefore, students should seek information that can help them develop an appropriate exercise routine, learn to monitor their own performance and reactions to exercise, and reflect on the importance of individualizing the practice of physical exercises.

Necessary Materials

  1. Notebook for notes
  2. Internet access for research
  3. Adequate physical activity equipment (if necessary)

Detailed Step-by-Step for Activity Completion

  1. Formation of groups and choice of exercises to be investigated.
  2. Research on the chosen exercises, their demands, benefits, risks, and safe ways to practice them.
  3. Individual development of an exercise routine to be practiced for one week.
  4. Daily documentation of activities performed, feelings, difficulties, progress, and other relevant aspects.
  5. Weekly group discussion about individual and collective experiences.
  6. Research and discussion on the excessive practice of physical exercises and the use of medications to enhance performance or potentiate body transformations.
  7. Creation of the final report.

Project Deliverables

At the end of the project, each group must deliver:

  1. Final Report: The final report should be divided into four sections: Introduction, Development, Conclusions, and Bibliography.
    • In the Introduction, students must contextualize the theme 'Demand of physical exercises', demonstrating the relevance and real-world application, in addition to the importance of teamwork.
    • In the Development, students must explain the theory behind the chosen exercises, the activity performed in detail, the methodology used, and finally present and discuss the results obtained. Here, it is essential to make a critical reflection on the excessive practice of physical exercises and the use of medications to enhance body transformations.
    • In the Conclusions, students must summarize the main points of the project, explain the learnings and conclusions drawn.
    • In the Bibliography, they must indicate the sources used to carry out the project. This list should contain all the resources that the group used to learn about the chosen exercises, the excessive practice of physical exercises, and the use of medications to enhance body transformations.

At the end of this project, it is expected that students have acquired not only a deeper knowledge of the demand of physical exercises but also essential skills such as time management, communication, problem-solving, creative thinking, proactivity, etc.
