The key concepts that will be addressed in this project are: asexual and sexual reproduction in plants and animals. In asexual reproduction, an individual gives rise to new individuals that are genetically identical to it. On the other hand, in sexual reproduction, two individuals of opposite sexes contribute genetic material for the formation of a new individual, which is genetically unique.
Reproduction is a fundamental characteristic of life and has a significant impact on our world. Reproduction allows the continuity of species, genetic diversity, adaptation and evolution. Having a deep understanding of the reproductive processes of living beings helps us to understand the nature and importance of the diversity of life on Earth.
