Knowing the English language today is essential. It is the language of international business, science, and technology. Furthermore, due to its predominance in media and internet platforms, English is the language of global communication.
The English language is extremely important for our ability to communicate on a global scale. This is particularly true in the academic world, where fluency in English is often a requirement for those wishing to pursue careers in various fields of knowledge.
Moreover, English is the dominant language on the internet, in international travel, and in global diplomacy. Understanding its expansion is a way to comprehend the cultural exchanges and historical movements that have shaped the world as we know it today.

Project Objectives
The objective of this project is to allow students to research and understand the historical processes that allowed the spread of the English language throughout the world. The project aims to develop research skills, teamwork, organization of ideas, as well as critical analysis of the collected data.
Detailed Description
Students, organized in groups of 3 to 5, will map the expansion of the English language in the world. They will create a multimedia presentation illustrating the spread of the language from England to different regions of the world and the impact of this distribution on the current scenario.
Required Materials
- Internet access for research.
- Presentation software (Powerpoint, Google Slides, Prezi, etc.).
- History and English books for research and consultation.
- Material for writing the report (computer with word processor).
Step by Step
1. Historical Research and Data Collection
Groups should research the history of the expansion of the English language. This research should include English colonialism, American influence, and the spread of English as a lingua franca. Each group should make detailed notes on key events, reasons for expansion, and the impacts of this expansion in different regions of the world.
2. Presentation Creation
After collecting the data, each group should create a multimedia presentation to present their findings. The presentation should be structured logically to show the progression of the expansion of the English language.
