The energy matrix is the combination of all available forms of energy for a country, including production, import, and export. It is a symbolic representation of a country's energy model and serves as a fundamental indicator of its energy policies.
Asia, being the largest and most populous of continents, is a region with a very diverse range of energy matrices. Countries like China, India, and Japan are some of the world's largest energy consumers and, at the same time, are at the forefront of the transition to clean energy sources. Analyzing the energy matrices of these countries and comparing them can provide important lessons on the paths to a sustainable energy future.
Energy resources can be classified as non-renewable, renewable, and alternative. Non-renewable resources, such as coal, oil, and natural gas, are finite and the exploitation of these can cause significant environmental damage. Meanwhile, renewable energy sources, including hydro, wind, and solar energy, are inexhaustible. Alternative energy sources, such as nuclear energy and biofuels, represent a compromise between large-scale energy production and reduced environmental impact.
The transition to cleaner and more sustainable energy matrices is a challenge we face globally. This challenge is particularly notable in Asia, where rapid industrialization and population growth have increased the demand for energy. As the region is home to several developing countries, the need for energy for development must be balanced with the need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and manage natural resources sustainably.

Project Objective
The objective of this project is to conduct an extensive analysis of an energy matrix of an Asian country of your choice, focusing not only on its current state but also on future trends and implications for the environment and society.
Project Description
Groups should choose a country and research the country's main energy resources (e.g., coal, natural gas, nuclear energy, hydroelectric power, wind energy, solar energy), the contribution of each energy resource to the country's total energy matrix, the country's energy policies, the environmental impact of energy resources, and future energy plans.

Step by Step

Team Organization and Country Selection: Form teams of 3 to 5 students. Each team should choose an Asian country to study its energy matrix.

Research: The team should conduct research on the chosen country, focusing on energy use and the country's energy matrix. They should research information about:
- Energy sources used
- Contribution of each source to the total energy matrix
- Country's energy policies
- Environmental impact of energy resources
- Future energy plans It is recommended to divide the topics among team members to ensure comprehensive and detailed research.

Analysis and Discussion: Once the research is completed, the team should discuss and analyze the collected information. They should consider the environmental impact of the energy sources used, the challenges and opportunities the country faces in transitioning to a more sustainable energy matrix, and any other relevant information.

Report Preparation: Based on the research and discussion, the team should create a detailed report. The report should follow the specified format: Introduction, Development, Conclusions, and Bibliography.
- Introduction: Should include a description of the chosen country, the relevance of studying energy matrices, and the research objective.
- Development: Should detail the research conducted, discussions, and analyses among team members.
- Conclusions: Synthesis of the main learnings and final conclusions regarding the issue under analysis.
- Bibliography: List of all information sources used in the project.

Presentation: Prepare a summary presentation of the report to present to the teacher and class. This presentation should include the main findings and conclusions of the research.
This project should be completed and submitted after a week of work. Each student should dedicate between 2 to 4 hours to complete the project. Evaluation will be based on the quality of research, analysis and reflection presented, and team collaboration and engagement.
