However, in the 20th century, due to a series of factors including the weakening of European empires following World War II, local independence movements, and international pressure, decolonization processes began to occur on these continents.

Project Objective

The objective of this project is for students to deepen their understanding of the decolonization process in Africa and Asia by researching specific cases of these processes and creating an interactive timeline.

Project Description

For this project, student groups will choose one country from Africa and another from Asia that went through the decolonization process. They should research in-depth the colonial history of these countries, the main events that led to their decolonization, the key figures involved, and the impacts of this process.

Students will create an online interactive timeline of these decolonization processes, where each key moment will be detailed, including images, texts, videos, or audios found during the research.

Required Materials

• Internet access to research the decolonization processes of the chosen countries.
• A computer or tablet to create the interactive timeline using an online tool of their choice, such as Timeline JS, Prezi, etc.

Step by Step

1. Start by dividing the classroom into groups of 3 to 5 students.
2. Each group should choose two countries to research, one from Africa and one from Asia.
3. Encourage students to research the colonial history of these countries, the main events that led to their decolonization, the key figures involved, and the impacts of this process.
4. After the research, students should begin building their timelines. They should divide this timeline into several sections, representing the main events of the decolonizations of both countries.
5. The timelines should be filled with information, images, videos, etc., to help illustrate and contextualize each event.
6. At the end of the process, students should review the timeline, ensuring it is clear, informative, and interactive.

Project Delivery

Students will deliver this project in two main parts: the interactive timeline and a written report.

The timeline should include all main events, each with a detailed description and, if possible, a visual or audio resource. This timeline should be interactive, meaning that events can be clicked on to display more information.

The written report should be divided into the following sections:
