Reading and Interpretation: Various Textual Genres

Contextualization

Reading and interpreting various textual genres is an essential skill in anyone's life. In the school environment, teaching the reading and interpretation of different textual genres provides students with the ability to communicate effectively and understand the world around them. Textual genres are specific forms that language takes to meet different communication needs.

There are many types of texts that we use in our daily lives, such as stories, novels, news, opinion articles, poems, among others. Each of these genres has its own characteristics and structures, requiring different reading and interpretation skills. To be a competent reader, it is necessary to be able to understand and interpret a variety of these genres.

The ability to read and interpret different textual genres is not only an academic skill but also an important life skill. In our digital society, we are constantly bombarded with information from various textual genres. Whether reading a work email, browsing the news feed on a social network, or reading an opinion article in a newspaper, we need to be able to understand and interpret this information correctly.
