What is a Scientist?

Making Something New!

Our Volcano Experiment!

Today, we are scientists! We will make a pretend volcano erupt. Watch the fizzy bubbles!

What We Need: Bottle

First, we need a small plastic bottle. This bottle will be the special home for our volcano. It will hold all the bubbly fun when our volcano erupts!

Our Volcano Tray

We need a special tray for our volcano. This tray will catch all the bubbly, foamy 'lava' that comes out. It helps keep our table super clean, just like a big plate catches spills!

What We Need: Baking Soda

• It is a white powder.

• Feels very soft!

• Makes our volcano fizz.

• We use it for baking, too!

What We Need: Vinegar

We will also use clear vinegar for our volcano experiment. It smells a little sour, like pickles or some salad dressing! This special liquid will help make our volcano fizz and bubble a lot.
